Kurtas and Suits
Angrakha styles kurtas and Empire waist kurtas are the best for this body type. Styles that flare down the waist and skims the hips should be the go to. Embellished necklines and sleeves add more structure to the upper body which creates a balance.
Tight fitted Kurtas below the waist should be refrained from.

Sarees and Draping styles
Flowy fabrics that don’t add bulk to the bottom are the best for pear shaped bodies. Pant style sarees and seedha pallu drapes are good.
Heavy borders at saree and embroideries at the bottom must be avoided.

Lehengas and Skirts
High waisted lehengas and long A-line or flowy skirts elongate the lower body by causing a slimming effect.
Peplum blouses create a balance between the upper torso and lower body. Fitted blouses can also be opted as they have a much slimmer upper body.
Mermaid lehengas must be avoided as they put attention to the hips.

Blouses and Tops
Since this body type has a slimmer upper body they can wear off shoulder tops, boat necks, cold shoulders etc. These kinds of tops define their upper body and take the attention from the lower portion.
Puffed, ruffled sleeves or embroidered tops look good too.
Tight and plain blouses must be avoided.

Dupatta Draping
People with this body type can try a front or angled draping style which creates a vertical effect. Volume draping at the upper portion can also be done.
Any draping that highlights the hip area must be avoided.

Colors & Prints
Brighter upper body and Darker bottom colors must be used to enhance the proportions, medium sized prints and vertical embroidery creates a slimming effect.
To avoid a bulking effect any large prints and heavy embroidery should be avoided.
